The Coimbatore Lorry Owners’ Association has announced that truck operators will stop plying vehicles to Karnataka from the midnight of September 30, to express solidarity with their counterparts in that State. In a release here, K.S. Kaliyaperumal, secretary of the association, said the Karnataka government had issued an order in compliance to the directives of the High Court there that cargo and goods vehicles should have speed governors. In protest, truck operators there had decided to keep off the roads. They had sought the cooperation of their counterparts in Tamil Nadu.
