Amway Launched Energy Drinks and Energy Bar segments

Amway India Enterprises, a direct selling FMCG company, on Thursday launched their products into the Energy Drinks and Energy Bar segments. Amway XL energy drinks are in two flavours of Citrus Blast and Tropical Blast, while XL energy bars are available in Apple Cinnamon and Fruit and Nut flavour, Mr Anshu Budhraj, Vice President (South), Amway India, told reporters here.
With Rs.500 crore market sizes for energy drinks and bars segment, the company was aiming to capture 50 per cent share of this segment in three to five years, Mr Budhraj said. Amway XL energy drink would be Rs.25 crore brand in one year, he claimed.

Stating that the market size of Direct Selling in India has crossed Rs.3,000 crore and expected to touch Rs.10,000 crore in the next five to seven years, he said that Amway, with the present 30 per cent share, was confident of retaining the number one sp ot in the coming years also. With Rs.800 crore turnover in 2007, the company would break through the Rs.1,000 crore ceiling in 2008, he said. As far as Tamil Nadu was concerned, the business was poised to touch Rs.170 crore in 2008 as against Rs. 95 crore in 2007, Mr Budhraj said.
