Goats To Rural Women
Representatives of the Lions Club handing over goats to rural women farmers for their livelihood in Tirupur. As a part of the “Rotational Goat Rearing Scheme” of the Veterinary University Training and Research Centre, Tirupur, rural women farmers were distributed 25 goats recently. A release said the goats were given to women of Omanchettipalayam and Rakkiapalayam villages of Avinashi taluk. So far 450 women have benefited from this scheme. U.R. Murugasamy, president, Lions Club of Tirupur Central, and R. Nanthabalan, District Assistant Governor, handed over the goats. R. Selvaraj, Head, Veterinary University Training and Research Centre, Tirupur, spoke.
