MRPC Planned Erect Red Flags
The Coimbatore District, Mettupalayam Road Protection Committee here has planned to erect red flags on the road to caution motorists. A release from M. Devendran, Secretary of the Committee, said that repeated representations to the National Highways Authorities had gone in vain. Potholes, accident-prone pockets and blind curves on the road had been causing many accidents.
Hence, the decision to erect red flags at potholes, blind curves and accident-prone areas to caution the motorists, he said. Considering the huge road tax being paid by the motorists, the National Highways was duty bound to pay compensation to the families of those getting killed or injured in road accidents, Mr.Devendran said.
