TiE Wooing Coimbatore Entrepreneurs

The indus entrepreneurs (TiE) is wooing entrepreneurs from Coimbatore to attend the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit (TES) 2008, which will be held in Bangalore from December 16-18, 2008. Moreover, TiE is also looking at entrepreneurs to take the lead and start a TiE chapter in this city, which is known for entrepreneurship. “Coimbatore is the entrepreneurial hub of south India and the city is blessed with strong entrepreneurial culture. We look forward to having many successful and aspiring entrepreneurs at TES 2008 from Coimbatore,” said N Bringi Dev, executive director of TiE, Bangalore chapter.
He added that the summit will feature successful and experienced entrepreneurs, who will share their knowledge on global entrepreneurship over three days across 50 sessions. The participation fee for non-members is Rs 8,000 per person, inclusive of food, while for the TiE members it is around Rs 6,500. “The summit will provide a comprehensive perspective of all aspects of entrepreneurship and will create a platform for entrepreneurs to share ideas, experiences and business objectives,” Dev said. According to him, more than 1,400 delegates and 100 speakers are expected to take part in the summit. The TiE had earlier organised two national summits at Mumbai (2006) and Delhi (2007).
“Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs are expected to assemble in Bangalore for this third edition,” Dev said. “This year’s summit is designed to include other entrepreneur groups and a variety of stakeholders from diverse sectors including retail, real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education and training, sports management, media and entertainment, manufacturing, social entrepreneurship, clean tech, mobile and financial services,” he added. TiE, founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region, has 49 chapters across 11 countries. In India, TiE has 13 chapters including the recent addition at Hubli, Karnataka.
