3 Member Gang Abducted College Girl
In true cinematic style, a threemember gang abducted a college. girl along with her friend in a car near Race Course here on Friday evening and demanded money. Kavitha (24) (name changed), an MBA student of a local college was conversing with her male friend near a coffee stall at Race Course when a car stopped near them. Three persons got out of the car and pretending to be policemen started questioning the two, insisting on taking them to the Race Course police station for further interrogation.The gang then forced them into the car, took them to a place near Sulur and locked them up in a dilapidated house near Sulur. The kidnappers then brandished knives, forced the duo to strip, took pictures and demanded Rs 1.50 lakhs from them, police sources said The gang is also reported to have outraged the modesty of the girl. Meanwhile, the youth managed to inform the police through his cellphone. A police team reached the spot, rescued the duo and managed to nab one of the fleeing gangsters, who was identified as Hakeem of Ukkadam area. A hunt is on for the others. The girl has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
