8 Kg Silver Recovered

The Coimbatore City Police on Saturday arrested Murugan and recovered eight kg of silver anklets worth over Rs. 2 lakh from him. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), K. Shanmugavel and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime – South), M. Annadurai told reporters that on October 12, Rajendran, a silver anklet manufacturer and trader of Salem, had come to Coimbatore wherein he had joined Murugan who had assured him to help sell silver anklets weighing 15.5 kg.


When the trader left the consignment with Murugan, he gave a slip at Podanur Railway Station. Recently, the police arrested Murugesan, a relative of Murugan and recovered 7.5 kg of silver anklets. Inquiries revealed that Murugan had left a part of the booty with Murugesan for disposing them off. Now, police arrested Murugan and recovered the remaining 8 kg of silver anklets.
