Drinking Water Supply Stopped
Supply of drinking water under the Pilloor scheme to the Coimbatore Corporation areas and over 500 panchayats was stopped on Tuesday following a leak in the main line at Karattumedu, north of the city.Water supply officials in the Corporation said the leak would be plugged by Wednesday evening and pumping of water to the main service reservoir in the city would resume soon after. Supply of water within the Corporation limits was expected to resume early on Thursday.
