It was a happy reunion with his family for Vikram Ramakrishnan, a resident of neighbouring Erode who was rescued from the Taj Hotel in Mumbai today after the terror attack.Ramakrishnan, working with a UK-based company in Mumbai, was all smiles when he met his wife and daughter at the airport here on his arrival from Mumbai tonight. He was rescued by the NSG commandos early today, he said.Narrating the two-day trauma, he said he was in the hotel when the terrorists struck.
The moment he knew that the hotel was under seige, he rushed to his room, switched off all the lights and went under the cot, to escape from the notice of the extremists. Ramakrishnan, a relative of former union minister C Subramaniam, told reporters that he could hear gun shots and grenade sounds, but could not see outside. As his cellphone was working, he was constantly in contact with his family who gave him moral support at the time of crisis, he said."There was tremendous fear and psychlogical tension, as I was facing death. But, after escaping, the fear looked temporary. I would definitely like to return to Mumbai and continue my work," a beaming Ramakrishnan said.
