Hemant Karkare who was killed in the terrorist attack in Mumbai on Wednesday night has a Coimbatore connection. His sister Poorva is married to Wing Commander Sathey, serving at the Air Force base in Coimbatore and presently on deputation to Sudan with the UN Peace Keeping Mission. Poorva broke down on learning about the killing of her brother early Thursday morning. Top personnel of the Indian Air Force here arranged her flight to Mumbai. Poorva, a teacher at a play school run by INS Agrani at Red Fields, stays at the Air Force quarters here.
