Labour Welfare Contribution
Establishments such as companies, factories and plantations should remit the labour welfare contribution for 2008 before January 31 2009. According to a release from the Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board, even commercial and catering institutions with at least five workers are covered under this scheme.
Those who are employed for a minimum of 30 days during the last 12 months should also contribute, irrespective of their monthly income. The contribution of Rs. 15 per employee, including Rs. 10 as employer’s share, should be sent through demand draft in favour of the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Board, DMS Compound, Tenampet, Chennai – 600006.
