Minister Accused Of Land Grab ???

A Leading jeweller has accused state Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S Arumugham of being involved in a land grab case.K R Srinath, owner of Coimbatore Jewellery, the Madras High Court last week that the minister’s men had been pressing him to sell his land adjacent to the New Bus Stand in Salem. Srinath said that Arumugham’s men had razed his half-constructed showroom and warned local contractors against taking up the project.

They had also encroached on a public road shared between Srinath and a neighbouring residential colony. He demanded police protection for his family, adequate compensation and court orders for the local police to accept his complaints. However Arumugham claimed innocence and blamed Srinath for misusing his name.Recently Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had dismissed minister N K K P Raja over a similar land grab case in Erode district.
