New Commissioner Took Charge

Anshul Mishra took charge as the Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation on Monday. He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2004 batch. He replaces V.K. Shanmugam who was transferred and posted as Krishnagiri District Collector. Ms.V. Shantha, Deputy Commissioner was holding charge as Commissioner.


Mr.Mishra had earlier served as Sub-Collector in Gobichettipalayam in Erode district and then as Additional Collector (Development) and Project Officer of District Rural Development Agency at Madurai. Mr.Mishra told reporters that he would continue and improve upon the good work of his predecessors. He would also ensure that he would be accessible to the public to enable them to ventilate their grievances.
