Basha Will Enter The City Without Police ?????
S A Basha, along with another prisoner, who were lodged in the Central jail here, after being sentenced for their involvement in the 1998 serial blasts, on Wednesday sought some relaxation in parole rules, as was given to other prisoners. In a memorandum submitted to R Nataraj, DGP (Prisons), who visited the jail, Basha and Mohammed Zubair requested authorities to consider sending them on parole without any police escort, as in the case of other regular prisoners, jail sources said. The memorandum said the travelling period, particularly out of station, was also heing calculated in the parole period, by which they cannot fully get the stipulated time.
While other prisoners were allowed to go on parole for two to three days and to stay in their houses, he and others involved in the blast cases, were taken to their house in the morning and brought back in the evening, with tight security, it said. Considering this, the prison department should relax the parole rules as they had been sentenced to life and already completed 11 years in the prison in the blast related cases, the sources said.
