Eye camp:
A two-day free eye care camp would be organised by the city-based Siloam Thomas Eye Hospital on December 27 and 28.
Police Announcement:
Police Commissioner K.C. Mahali has announced that licensed fire arms holders in Coimbatore should apply for renewal of their fire arms licence since it would expire on December 31. The Commissioner said that if they fail to get the licence renewed in time, due legal action would be taken against them.
PDS Rice Seized:
The flying squad of the Civil Supplies Wing on Saturday intercepted a speeding truck near Udumalpet and seized about 13 tonnes of rice. The consignment never had any documents and the truck was proceeding towards Kerala. The squad seized the lorry along with the rice and arrested driver and cleaner Krishnan (32) and Gopal (42) belonging to Pollachi. They were handed over to the Civil Supplies CID police and a case has been registered against them.
