R.Nallakkanu Told The Reason Of AIADMK Alliance
Senior CPI leader, R Nallakkannu today said the alliance the Left Parties had with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu was mainly to prevent Congress and BJP from coming to power. 'There was dissatisfaction among the people of Tamil Nadu with the DMK rule of late, and this should not be converted by Congress and BJP in their favour. Hence, the left parties opted an alliance with AIADMK', Nallakkannu told reporters here. On continued killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka, he alleged that Tamil Nadu government had failed to put pressure on the Centre to pressurise Sri Lankan government for a ceasefire. The recent remarks by Sri Lankan Army Chief Pon Fonseka against Tamil Nadu politicians were the clear indication of this, Nallakkanu said. Tamil Nadu government should expedite the distribution of relief measures to the farmers affected by the recent floods, he said.
