Camp:
The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute organised a motivation camp here recently for its E-Club members. A release from the institute said the aim was to create awareness about Government schemes and bank assistance to the Computerised Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine operators who were members of its Entrepreneur Club.
Novel Protest :
A section of advocates practicing in the District Sessions Court and Sub-Ordinate Judiciary staged a protest by bringing a donkey to the court complex. The advocates adorned the donkey with a shawl, garland and presented petitions. This was a part of agitations being staged by advocates following the clash between police personnel and lawyers at High Court premises in Chennai on February 19. They said that the agitation was to wake up a “sleeping judiciary”.
Fire Delays Train :
The Coimbatore – Nagercoil Express was held-up near Singanallur after a smoke was seen emanating from the parcel van of the train. The fire was caused by a short circuit in a two-wheeler booked for transportation in the parcel wagon. The fire was extinguished and the train left after 40 minutes of delay.

Activists of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi staged a demonstration in the city on Tuesday condemning the arrests and detention of those who supported the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils.
