JOSCO eyes Coimbatore !
Prominent jewellery group Josco Jewellers will open its East Fort showroom on Monday.Addressing a news conference here on Saturday, Josco’s managing director and CEO Tony Jose said that Lathika Lakshmi, a student of the University College here, selected from the college girls in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts, will formally inaugurate the showroom at 10.30 a.m. Josco group chairman P A Jose and MD and CEO Tony Jose will jointly light the ceremonial lamp.Mayor C Jayan Babu will inaugurate the gallery. Cine actor Mukesh will make the first sale. Cine actress Karthika will distribute the prizes.Tony Jose said that their 14th jewellery showroom spreading over 7,000 square feet would be the largest in the capital.
New showrooms will be opened in Palakkad, Bangalore and Coimbatore in the coming months. General manager Sabu Thomas said that as part of the inauguration special gifts would be given for all purchases. He said that all the ornaments sold in Josco was 916 BIS hallmarked gold. Diamond jewelleries are sold here with 100 percent buy-back guarantee and all major diamond brands are available in their showroom, he said.Tony Jose said that they had a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore during 2008-09 and expected a turnover of Rs 1,700 crore in the current fiscal.They are the number-one tax payer in the State last year, he said.
