Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhgam Going To Contest 70 Constituencies
The Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhgam will contest in 60 to 70 constituencies in the 2011 Assembly elections, party president ‘Best’ S. Ramaswamy and general secretary E.R. Easwaran told presspersons here on Sunday. The aim was to win at least 25 seats.
Mr. Easwaran said the party had done well in its first elections and that too going it alone.Contending that the party would make a viable ally for others in the next elections, he said the KMK would pursue its agenda for the Kongu region’s development. The party would meet Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on its demand that toddy tapping be allowed, he said.
