Child killed in an accident ..
A three-and-a-half-year-old girl Sangamithra studying in UKG in a private school was fatally knocked down by a State Express Transport Corporation bus on Avanashi Road, near Peelamedupudur – Avanashi Road Junction, on Monday morning.
It is learnt that the girl was travelling on a scooter with her father Senthilkumar of Pazhayur in Pappanaickenpalayam and was on her way to the school in Peelamedu.
The bus is said to have knocked the scooter and that resulted in the girl getting caught under the wheels. Senthilkumar who was thrown off the vehicle sustained injuries.
Traffic Investigation Wing officials arrested the bus driver Gurusamy (54) of Rathinapuri. Investigations are on.
