4 arrested for assaulting SI
Four persons were arrested by the Thudiyalur Police past midnight on Saturday near the city on charges of assaulting a woman traffic Sub-Inspector attached to the police station.
The police said Sivakumar, Hariprasad, Pradeep Kumar and Kannan of Kavundampalayam had parked their motorcycles at a bakery and were involved in a conversation along the road around midnight. Sub-Inspector Deivamani, who was patrolling that area, had asked them to disperse.
A quarrel followed when the four resisted the police official’s alleged attempt to take away the keys of their vehicles. Policemen arrived from the Thudialur Police Station and arrested the four.
