Crocodile India targets Youth
Crocodile hungry for young blood
A complete image makeover, expansion of retail network and focus on youth are the main aspects of a new roadmap laid out by Coimbatore-based S P Apparels Ltd for its newly acquired Crocodile India. The company hopes to achieve 30% growth in the coming years after the new plans have been implemented.
The new concept of international store format would be tried out in the city with the opening of the first company-owned Crocodile store. The company will also shift to a grey brand identity instead of the green colour that it has sported for Crocodile so far.
The new format retail stores will be opened in seven more centres before April 2007 including places like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Noida and Salem. “It will be 12 stores in the next 12 months and we will be adding more in numbers by 2010”, Mr Sanjay Chandrashekhar, Vice President-Retail, S P Apparels Ltd.
“We are planning a complete brand revamp targeting the youth”, he said. New product lines in denims and linen are being planned. The stores will be given a makeover with steel, glass and white lights instead of wood and yellow lights used at present, he added.
S P Apparels was set up in 1989 and is recognized as a 3-star export house. It reported a turnover of Rs 200 crore last year.
