Avinashi-Athikadavu Groundwater Recharge Scheme Funds demanded
COIMBATORE: The demand for the Avinashi-Athikadavu Groundwater Recharge Scheme is gaining momentum for the umpteenth time now.
The State Government during 2005 has assured the people here that their demand would be considered once the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal’s final Award is out.As the verdict has come now, the time to allocate funds for the dream project of the people of Coimbatore and Erode districts would be soon be done in the current budget, said V Ganeshan, secretary, Federation for the Implementation of Avinashi -Athikadavu Groundwater Recharge Scheme.
“We have approached Rural Industries Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy and Coimbatore MP K Subbarayan, to facilitate a meeting with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi when he visits the city on Saturday,” said Ganeshan.
