UK's MLS Group plans business centre in Coimbatore

UK-based a business centre operator, MLS Group intends to invest Rs 250 million over the next two years, developing at least one business centre each quarter, reports Business Line. The company recently completed developing about 30,000 sq.ft. of business space (at a cost of Rs 450 million) in Chennai through its subsidiary MLS Business Centres India. S. Sridhar, Managing Director, MLS India said that the company is looking at developing one more business centre in Chennai besides centres in tier-II and tier-III cities.

Coimbatore, Mysore, Hyderabad and Pune are some target cities likely to see a 15,000 sq.ft. business centre each. The Group creates `plug and play` offices that include all physical and IT infrastructure (hardware and software), security, electricity, lighting, furniture and telephone access besides virtual office services. These offices conform to certain standards set by the company and can be customised depending on client requirements. MLS India develops up to 250-seat offices and sources most of its infrastructure requirements locally. The centres are leased out to clients.

The MLS Group set up its captive data centre in Chennai about a year ago and is now planning to move a majority of its administrative functions here. As of now, the centre handles data related to CAD drawings and some HR related functions like recording employee leave and part time work schedules. ``In the long term we also plan to offer the data centre services as an off-shore unit to our clients``, said Paul Barrington Williams, Founder and CEO, MLS Group.
