MOU between PSG Tech and Ashok Leyland Ltd

MoU to offer career-oriented diplomas


The course will have both theory and practical aspects

Coimbatore:"This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will act like a vertical integration of our organisation with the student community. This is an example of our commitment to carve out industry-institute partnerships to benefit society at large," J.N. Amrolia, Executive Director, Human Resources of Ashok Leyland Limited, said here on March-24th.He was speaking at the MoU signing ceremony between the company and PSG College of Technology. The MoU envisaged offering one-and-a-half year career-oriented post-graduate diploma courses in Manufacturing Technology, and in Automobile Sales and Service.

The course would have both theory and practical aspects that would include a six-month intense internship at the various plants and service centres of Ashok Leyland, after which the graduates would be absorbed in Ashok Leyland. The college in collaboration with the company had developed the course content keeping in mind the requirement of the industry. Graduates in Physics and Applied Sciences who were below 22 years of age and with a consistent track record of 60 per cent, were eligible to apply for the diploma course.

Chief Executive of PSG Institutions C.R. Swaminathan signed the MoU on behalf of the college. The course that would be residential, would have an intake of 60 students, 30 for manufacturing and 30 for sales and service, and would be open to students from all over India.
