MALABAR Gold's Showrrom at Coimbatore
MALABAR Gold, the flagship division of Rs 800-crore Malabar Group, is planning to invest Rs 200 crore in the next year to expand its footprint in south India and abroad. The company, which is opening its 14th showroom here on April 29, plans to open 20 other outlets in south India by the end of 2007, Malabar Gold chairman M P Ahamed said. The new showrooms are expected to open in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Bangalore (second one), Mysore and Coimbatore.
Outside Kerala, the company outlets are present in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mangalore. Malabar Gold has also planned its first shop in Dubai Gold Souk next month and hopes to follow it up with five new shops in other parts of West Asia including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Qatar and Bahrain. The Kochi showroom spread over 10,000 sq ft is the largest Malabar Gold outlet. Mr Ahamed said that its USP is a collection of traditional and designer bridal jewellery besides party wear, work wear and diamond jewellery and premium international watches. The bridal collection will comprise designs from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal besides those from Italy, Singapore and Bahrain. Malabar Gold brand ambassador Mohan Lal is scheduled open the Kochi showroom.
