Applications in June for free bus pass
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced that application forms for free bus pass to students from Standard I to Standard XII in all the Government and Government approved schools will be issued from this June.In a release, the TNSTC said that the heads of educational institutions could get the applications by furnishing a request letter to the TNSTC head office or branches in Coimbatore, Erode and the Nilgiris districts.Students should get these applications from their institution and submit the filled in forms with two stamp size photographs to the heads of the institutions. The heads could send in these forms to the TNSTC offices with authorisation through a special messenger. These forms would be processed and after updating the computer entries, bus passes valid till April 30, 2008, would be sent to the schools. Thereafter, the heads should issue these passes to the students after affixing their rubber stamp seal and signature.They could get the forms and also submit them at the following TNSTC offices: Coimbatore head office on Mettuppalayam Road, zonal head office at Erode, divisional offices at Pollachi, Tirupur and Udhagamandalam and branches at Udumalpet, Valparai, Karumathampatti, Palladam, Mettuppalayam, Coonoor, Kotagiri and Gudalur.For details, the institutions could contact the TNSTC head office at 2431521, 243173, 2431623, 2431671 or by tnstccbe@sanchar.net.in
