TCV's office attacked with petrol bomb
Some unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs in the control room of a cable television network, TCV, run by a former MLA, destroying Rs five lakh worth electronic devices in the early hours today at Perur in the city outskirts.According to police, the persons came on motorcycles and threw two petrol-filled bottles, with firelit wicks on them on the office of TCV which is run by former Tiruppur MLA C Sivasami.One bottle fell outside the office and another went in through the window, causing fire around 2.30 AM.
TVs and other communication equipment worth about Rs.five lakh were gutted in the fire, which was put off by the people in the neighbourhood, police said.Police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by the TCV authorities and business rivalry is supposed to be the motive behind the attack, they said.
