Elaborate arrangements for recruitment of VAOs
District Collector Neeraj Mittal announced that elaborate arrangements were being made for recruitment of Village Administrative Officers (VAOs).As many as 30,551 candidates are expected to appear in 61 centres across the district on June 10 for the written examination.In a release he said 18,738 candidates would take the examinations in 30 centres in Coimbatore, 4,098 candidates in 15 centres in Pollachi, 3,391 candidates in eight centres in Udumalpet and 4,324 candidates in eight centres in Tirupur. The examination centres would be educational institutions in the area.Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation would be operating special buses to the examination centres from bus stands and railway stations in advance for the benefit of candidates. Adequate police security has been arranged at all examination centres. Flying squads have been formed for every examination centre to prevent malpractices in the examinations.Those who had applied and still waiting for the hall tickets could access the website of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission at http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/ giving details such as names and date of birth to know the status of their application.
Those who had checked their application status could wait for the hall tickets till June 7 and in the event of the hall tickets not reaching them, they could approach the hall ticket counters at the District Collectorate for a temporary hall ticket on June 8 and 9 between 10 a.m. and 5 a.m.
They should bring a white sheet with their passport photo affixed on it and endorsed/attested by a gazetted officer.Candidates whose applications have been rejected (as per the information on the website) need not approach the Collectorate for temporary hall tickets.
