MobileStore in Coimbatore Soon
The MobileStore, an Essar Group initiative, which has redefined telecom retail in India, will invest 250 million dollars to open 2,500 stores over the next three years.Speaking to newspersons after the launch of its first MobileStore in Chennai by former cricketer Krish Srikkanth, Essar Telecom Retail Ltd CEO Rajiv Agarwal told newspersons that as part of its plan to expand its base, the company would open 2,500 shops in 600 cities in India in three years.''In the next six months, we will open five shops in Chennai, 50 in Tamil Nadu and 150 spread over 25 cities in South India. We plan to create a pan-India network of over 2,500 telecom retail outlets and 4,000 touch points across 600 cities,'' he added.At present the company has 180 stores in 11 cities in the country.
In South India too, MobileStore will have its presence in cities like Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Thanjavur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Pondicherry, Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Warangal, Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Manipal, Belgaum, Davangere, Hubli-Dharwad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Thrissur and Kozhikode.The MobileStore would offer telecom customers a superlative shopping experience with its unique ''all under one roof'' telecom solutions.''Besides a wide range of handsets, there would be value-added services and after-sales service,'' Mr Rajiv said and added that a Rolls Royce car would be used for promotion of the Store across the country. People coming to the shop for mobiles would be given the unique experience of a ride in the car.Opening his new innings with MobileStore, Mr Srikkanth said it was a brilliant concept as today's youngsters were tech and gizmo savvy. ''The youths are driving the country and this MobileStore concept would be a great success,'' he added.
