More bus fesility to Ooty
Eight ultra deluxe hitech buses were inducted to the State Transport Corporation at Ooty on Wednesday.At a function held at the central bus stand here, Tamil Nadu Khadi Board Minister K Ramachandran and local MLA B Gopalan flagged off the buses.Speaking to journalists, Ramachandran said that the buses costing about Rs 1.20 crore would ply between Ooty- Chennai, Ooty-Bangalore and Gudalur-Chennai routes.Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) here got 47 new buses in March due to the steps taken by DMK Government, Ramachandran said.Ramachandran also assured that 50 new buses, suited for Ghats road here, would be inducted in the coming year.Further, the Government also decided to replace all the buses once in five years as the buses in the hilly district passed through tough terrains.Earlier in the day, the new buses were taken through the town in a rally with the Minister aboard.
