Ride on Martin's office and home
The Crime Branch CID, Salem, on Saturday raided the office and office-cum-residential premises of a leading lottery merchant here on Saturday.The teams searched the office premises of S. Martin on Gandhipuram 6th street and GN Mills Post, Vellakinar, on the outskirts of the city, for six to seven hours.Police sources said the raids were based on a search warrant issued by a Chennai court. On May 7, the CB-CID had raided various premises in western Tamil Nadu, arrested a number of lottery vendors and seized lottery tickets from other States.One of those arrested had confessed that the tickets were being procured from the Coimbatore dealer.Sources said files and data from computers seized during the raids would be examined. CB-CID sources remained tight-lipped about the nature of documents seized.Crime Branch CID personnel searched an office premises on Triplicane and Mr. Martin's house at R.A. Puram, an official of the special unit said. Documents and hard discs were seized during the operations. Further investigation was on, the official added.
