Competitions for children
The Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore North will organise ‘Kuttys Kallakal,’ a series of competitions including dance, music, fancy dress, rangoli and painting for children. Cookery competition for women will also be held at the Nani Kalaiarangam at Mani Higher Secondary School.The club has adopted three villages – Somaiyanur, Marudhapuram and Kasturinaickenpalayam. Rangoli, cookery, fancy dress and painting competitions will be held on July 21. Rangoli and cookery (vegetable gravy) competitions will be open to all age groups. Fancy dress is for children from pre-kindergarten (KG) up to class III. Painting using crayons and colour pencils is for children from pre KG to UKG. Students of classes I to VI can participate in watercolour painting. Those in classes VII to XI can participate in poster colours and those from classes X to XII can use any medium for painting.
On July 22, music and dance competitions will be held. For devotional songs, those from classes III and IV, V and VI and VII and VIII, will be grouped into three categories. Movie song- classes VII to XII and keyboard - classes V to XII. There will be three groups for folk dance- those in three to six years, seven to 12 years and 13 to 18 years.
