CySI's Coimbatore chapter inaugurated
The Cyber Society of India (CySI) will look at developing guidelines for various industrial sectors on cyber assurance at different levels of the organisation, said the National President of the society, K. Subramanian. Inaugurating the society’s Coimbatore chapter here on Monday, he said that cyber assurance could be brought about at managerial, operational, technological, revenue and legal levels in an institution or organisation. The solutions were already available for each level. These needed to be integrated. The society would create awareness and create a multi-vendor cooperative environment, he said.
Technology should be used for the betterment of the society and with increasing importance on cyber security, cyber assurance was an emerging area, he said. The other activities that the society would take up are: capacity building and offering specialised training, enabling industry-institution linkages, and providing non-partisan advisory services on technology.The National Chairman of the society, R. Ramamurthy, said that the society currently had chapters in Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore. By the end of the year, it hoped to start chapters in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. The society was also considering establishment of a cyber forensic laboratory. “We have the expertise,” he said.The society was also working to establish security standards and create awareness on that.
C.R. Swaminathan, chief executive of the PSG Institutions, will be the chairman of the Coimbatore chapter. A.P. Chandrasekaran, Managing Director of Ravichandra Systems, is the secretary and S.N. Ravichandran, Managing Director of Nilgiris Chemical Stoneware Company Private Limited, is the treasurer.
