Prepared for 21st century classrooms?
A view of computer lab. Each student has a computer and so does the teacher. The lessons begin and the teacher gives his instructions through the computer, which are viewed by the students on their computer screens. This is probably how a 21st century classroom would function.Anticipating a future in which the educational system in the country would be revolutionised by technology, M3 Idea Solutions, a software provider based in Coimbatore, has come out with a brand new software, NetOp, to promote the concept of networked classrooms in the city. “Using this software, the amount of paperwork for the teachers and students can be reduced,” says Mohammed Basullah, Operations Manager of M3 Idea Solutions. The concept of networked classrooms can be implemented not just in schools but also in universities and colleges to enable students master computer technology, Mr.Basullah says.
The company would provide training to institutions that are interested in using NetOp. Networked classrooms facilitate better communication between the teacher and the studentsManagement of the classroom by the teacher becomes very easy. Students can place their homework in specific folders, which could be accessed by the teacher. The software also has additional features such as the provision to lock the screen, keyboard and mouse on student computers with a command from the teacher’s computer. It can initiate discussion forums online and direct student computers to links of websites.
