SFI Secretary warned collages

K. Santhosh Kumar, secretary of the Students Federation of India, Coimbatore, has alleged that some colleges in the city continued to harass students who are withdrawing from the course.A release Santhosh Kumar said: “In spite of warnings from the UGC as well as the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathair University, G. Thiruvasagam, some colleges have asked students to pay Rs. 5,000 to get back their certificates on withdrawal from the college. The UGC has to take action against colleges who flout the directions.”

The University Grants Commission (UGC) had recently come out with concrete guidelines on how colleges should treat a student if he were to withdraw after admission.
