SIMA team for Thailand
A team of textile manufacturers and exporters of the Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) and the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry will visit Thailand from July 3 to 5. The SIMA chairman, S.V. Arumugam, said that the team would hold discussions with some of the trade associations in Thailand. “The aim is to explore the possibilities of enhancing yarn and fabric exports and imports,” he said.
With India signing Free Trade Agreements with Thailand, there was more room for increasing two-way textile trade between the two countries. . The 22-member team would focus on almost all the segments of the textile industry. The associations here had contacted the textile associations in Thailand and would also visit spinning, weaving, processing and garmenting units there. While one day would be for trade discussions, the next two days would be for industry visits. “We will also be inviting them to visit the Indian units,” he added.
