Siruvani dam may be overflow
The water level in the Siruvani Dam, which supplies drinking water to the city and suburbs, is set to touch the full reservoir level of 67.44 ft. Mayor R. Venkatachalam said the level on Thursday morning was a little more than 65 ft.“Water may overflow on Friday or Saturday,” he said. Though there was only 30 mm rain in the catchments, there was heavy inflow from the upper reaches of the Siruvani Hills. Surplus water from the Mukthikulam in the upper reaches kept flowing into the dam through more than five falls because of heavy rain in Kerala. (The catchments and the dam are located in Kerala)
