4 new building opend at Coproation school
Minister for School Education, Thangam Thennarasu (second left), Rural Industries Minister, Pongalur N.Palanisamy (right), Mayor R.Venkatachalam (left) and Trustee of CRI Charitable Trust and president of Alumni Association of the Corporation Siddhapudur Higher Secondary School, G.Soundararajan (second right), visiting the library of the school in the city.Four new buildings were opened at the Corporation Siddhapudur Higher Secondary School here on Tuesday.According to a release from the Coimbatore Corporation, an auditorium constructed by the CRI Charitable Trust and the alumni association of the school was opened by the Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu.
It can accommodate 500 persons and cost Rs.65 lakhs.The auditorium had state-of-the-art acoustics making it ideal for being used as a digital theatre. It would be utilised for the screening of course curriculum in CDs.An indoor stadium with a wooden floor, housing a badminton court, table tennis court and provisions for chess and caroms was also opened.A computerised library and a dining room along with a kitchen were declared open by Rural Industries Minister Pongalur N. Palanisamy. A computer laboratory that could accommodate 60 students, constructed by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, was opened by the Collector Neeraj Mittal.
In order to commemorate 50 years of existence of the school, the alumni brought out a souvenir, which was released by Mr.Thennarasu and received by the Mayor R.Venkatachalam.Educational incentives were distributed to the students by the alumni association and Annapoorna Gowrishankar Group. The alumni also donated safe-vaults for the staff members.More than 1,150 students were given identity cards. Sports equipment, play materials, computers, software and books for the library were also donated to the school.Coimbatore Member of Parliament K.Subbarayan, Director of School Education R.Kannan, Corporation Commissioner P.Muthuveeran, Deputy Mayor N.Karthik, Educational Committee Chairman R.Kalyanasundaram, North Zone Chairman C.Padmanabhan and Chief Educational Officer S.Karmegam, participated in the function.
