Bharathiar University will confer an honorary doctorate on A. Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Controller, Research and Development, Defence Research and Development Organisation, and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, in the first week of January 2008, Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam told a press conference here on Thursday.Dr. Thiruvasagam said the occasion would coincide with the inauguration of the BU-DRDO Centre of Life Sciences by the Prime Minister.
