CD on modern farm tech for sale at TNAU
Compact discs on modern farm technologies and scientific practices, produced by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, are available for sale.According to G. Selvaraj, Director of Open and Distance Learning, TNAU, 60 CDs have been produced so far by the university on agriculture.CD’s were also produced on allied subjects like tissue culture technology, hybrid rice seed production, medicinal plants, mushroom cultivation, and jatropha cultivation.The programmes have been produced in a scientific manner in a bid to promote science-based farming and entrepreneurship among farmers.
It is also intended to assist others interested in agriculture, besides students who are pursuing science-based studies.The CDs are expected to be useful to extension functionaries of development departments.It is also aimed to aid non-governmental organisation workers for use during their field extension programmes to create awareness among rural folk.
