India won the match held at Coimbatore
Archrival India encouraged by great triumph in second Asian central zone volleyball championship, were too strong against the Pakistan and outclassed in the eight encounter by 3-2 to won the first ever Pak-India volleyball test series by 5-3 at the Indian city Coimbatore.The eight test match of the series which was contested on home and away basis was well consisted by both the teams displayed best techniques of the game but Indian team took advantage their intelligent blocking, they deflected powerful spikes against Pakistani players and intimidated their opponent to lead at 8-6 and the time out first technical time of the set.
Their ace spikers Sube Singh and Mandeep Singh played major share which effective spiking for the Indian side to win the first set at the score of 25-21.The second set of the match proved the longest set of the match both the teams crossed 25 points barrier after giving tough fight to each other and not allowing the opponent to take a big lead. It was the game of nerves for both the teams and Pakistan finally manage two points in the raw to win the set by 31-29 and leveling the game by 1-1.Pakistan team take lead in the early stages of the third set, as their ace spikers Naseer Ahmed and Mohaib Rasool were in peak form ably sported by Bakhat Rasal organized quick combination tactics and finishing in their favor at 25-20.
In the fourth set, commonwealth volleyball silver medalist India realized and fought back to maintain the lead and never allowed their revival to move ahead of them, India won the set by 25-21 and leveling the match by 2-2. Growling volleyball witnessed in the fifth and final set by the both the teams in all departments of the game but host India finally managed to clinch the set by 15-13 to won the match at the score of 25-21, 29-31, 20-25, 25-21 and 15-13.India also clinched the crown by 5-3 of the first ever Pak-India volleyball test series. The ninth and final test match will be played on Tuesday (today) at the Indian city Hyderabad.
