World Textile Conference from Aug-16
A three day World Textile Conference is organized here from August 16. The conference will discuss the latest trends in “Apparel and Home Textiles”. A large number of experts from India and abroad will attend the conference.The conference will provide an ideal opportunity to the apparel and home textiles sectors to acquaint itself with the latest in technology, processes, quality and fashion along with familiarizing itself with the prevailing global trade scenario and the prospects for the future.
It provides a common platform to the various sections of the apparel sector viz., machinery manufactures, apparel manufacturers and exporters, processors, merchandisers, certifying bodies etc. for crucial deliberations on current topics and it is envisaged that the conference will go a long way in promoting the cause of the garment industry.Experts from India, US, China, Japan, South Africa and Pakistan, would be presenting papers on latest trends. Delegates from industry, academicians, research scholars, government officials, exporters and entrepreneurs would also participate in the event, said M S Mathivanan, Chairman, International Textile Educational Consortium, which is organizing it.
The conference is termed important in view of the removal of quota system and challenges faced by the industry in the post quota regime.The event is being supported by Careera Inc and University Politiechico Di Milano of Italy, Clothing Industry Training Authority, Hong Kong, Apparel Export Promotion Council and Powerloom Development Export Council, Mathivanan said.The apparel and home textiles industry has continued to play a dominant role as a leading export earner and has grown substantially in the last three decades. The dismantling of the quota regime has compelled the industry to compete for its market share in a fiercely competitive global market.
