KK Nager's life Vs bomb blast case
The long wait of nine years is drawing to a close for the families in K K Nagar here, since the charges against most of the 30 persons from the area, have been pronounced ‘not proved’ in the 1998 serial blasts case.As instructed by Justice K Uthirapathy in the Special Court for Bomb Blasts cases, the 84 undertrials against whom the serious charges were not proved, have moved their bail applications.Their anxious family members hoped that the undertrials would return home, at least on Monday.‘‘We only want them back. Nothing more. We do not want them to bail the family out of poverty or anything else,’’ said a woman, whose brother was arrested in connection with the blasts.Ismail (75) and his aged wife managed to make ends meet with a monthly pension, since both their sons were arrested. The couple wanted their son to get married and lead a normal life.‘‘He has got a life to live like others. However, he should get a job first. Who will marry an unemployed man?’’ Ismail queried.‘‘My son was employed in a workshop earlier. We have no idea about his future. Hopefully, he will find a job. Let him come first,’’ said Noorjahan.‘‘For my brother, marriage will not be a problem. Our relatives know us well. So, they will not hesitate to give their daughter’s hand in marriage,’’ a woman said.Whatsoever be the hopes of the elders, a school girl had her own plans, if her father returned from prison.‘‘I will ask him to buy me a bicycle,’’ she said.
