Union Minister of State for Housing and Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja will launch the Coimbatore Corporation’s slum-free city project on Monday.The project is to be implemented under the Central Government’s infrastructure development programme, the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.State Minister for Rural Industries Pongalur N. Palanisamy, Joint Secretary of the mission P.K. Mohanty, State Secretary of Municipal Administration and Water Supply K. Deenabandhu, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Administration Hitesh Kumar S. Makhwana, Coimbatore Collector Neeraj Mittal, Mayor R. Venkatachalam and Corporation Commissioner P. Muthuveeran will take part in the function.
