CLOA thanked the Chief Minister of Kerala
The Coimbatore Lorry Owners Association has thanked the Chief Minister of Kerala and the Government officials for the remedial measures initiated at the Commercial Tax Department check post at Walayar for ending the delay and for ensuring faster clearance of trucks carrying goods and commodities.The Secretary of the Lorry Owners Association, K.S. Kaliaperumal in a statement said that the association had represented to the Kerala Government on the abnormal delay caused in completing the checking and paper works at the Commercial Tax check post at Walayar.
The Walayar check post on the busy National Highway No 47 used to witness a long queue of trucks carrying commodities.Earlier, the check post officials used to detain the lorries even for two-days, resulting in revenue loss for the truck operators besides delay in the goods reaching the markets in Kerala.The Coimbatore Lorry Owners had even threatened to launch an agitation by not operating trucks to Kerala. The Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Kerala Thomas Isaac held a meeting at the Walayar check post and have sorted out the major problems and the corrupt practices have completely been eliminated.
