Conference of the SAATA

The maiden conference of the South Asian Association of Transactional Analysts (SAATA) will take place from September 26 to 30 at South India Textile Research Association (SITRA), Coimbatore. The theme of the conference, organised by Nitya Gurukula, is ‘In/Out, This/That, We/Them … Balancing Polarities’.

SAATA is an international, non-profit, professional organisation founded by a group of transactional analysts engaged in applying their knowledge and skills for promoting global standards in Transactional Analysis practice, training and certification. The institutes (continuous sessions on a particular topic) will be held on September 26 and 27 while the workshops and lectures will go on from September 28 to 30.The conference hopes to provide a platform to explore and understand, using Transactional Analysis and a few other behavioural sciences, the balancing of polarities and making it work for development of individuals and groups.


National and international TA practitioners will take part in the workshop, and the speakers include Keith Tudor, a qualified psychotherapist worker who has nearly 30 years of experience and Diane Salters, a certified clinical member of the International Transactional Analysis Association.Transactional Analysis is applied in the fields of counselling, education, organisation growth and psychotherapy.A typical day at the conference will consist of support group discussions, keynote speeches, special speeches, workshops, panels, paper presentations and social programmes.There will also be a special session for children (8 to 13 years) during the conference, for three hours. An internally accredited basic course, TA 101 in English will also be offered.


The conference is aimed at practitioners and students of TA, those seeking to enhance their potential, HRD personnel, teachers, students and parents, staff of NGOs and the like.
