Long queues of lorries and other goods transport were seen at the Commercial Tax checkpost in Walayar on Friday due to the bad condition of the roads on the Tamil Nadu side of the border coupled with the slow clearance by the Commercial Tax authorities on the Kerala side.The queue of vehicles was reported to have begun from 3 am on Friday and when reports last came in, it was extending upto Chavadi on the Tamil Nadu side of the border.The KSRTC buses operating to Coimbatore from Palakkad were more than one to two hours behind schedule.Since many buses and vehicles were diverted via Velanthavalam to Coimbatore, there was traffic congestion on that route also since the roads were narrow.
