Traffic diversions in view of Vinayaka procession

Menon Road at Gandhipuram at 3.30 p.m. It will take Chinnaswamy Naidu Road, 100 Feet Road-Sathyamangalam Road Junction, 100 Feet Road, North Coimbatore Flyover, Chinthamani Junction, V.C.V. Layout, Range Gounder Street, Sukrawarpet, Tyagi Kumaran Street, Idayar Street, Karuppu Gounder Street, Vysial Street, Sullivan Street, Gandhipark, Subramaniam Road and Venkitakrishna Road to reach Muthannankulam for the immersion of the idols.
In view of this, vehicles coming towards the city on Sathyamangalam Road will be diverted through Chinnaswamy Naidu Road. Vehicles from Mettupalayam Road should take the following route into the city: ARC, Sivananda Colony, 100 Feet Road, 100 Feet-Road-Sathyamangalam Road Junction and Chinnaswamy Naidu Road.When the procession reaches the flyover, vehicles heading for the city on Thadagam Road will be diverted through Cowley Brown Road, Mettupalayam Road, ARC Junction and Sivananda Colony.Vehicles coming from Perur should take the ring road and Ukkadam to reach the city. Those who usually take the Flower Bazaar and Mettupalayam Road route from Ukkadam should go through Oppanakara Street, Variety Hall Road and the Avanashi Road Flyover to reach their destinations. But, they should not take Brooke Bond Road.
When the procession reaches Sukrawarpet Junction, the vehicles from Gandhipark that normally take Sukrawarpet to reach Avanashi Road Flyover will be diverted through D.B. Road.The second procession will begin at Theppakulam Maidan at 4 p.m. When it takes Lingappa Chetti Street and reaches Devangapettai Road, vehicles from Mettupalayam that are heading for Sukrawarpet Junction will be diverted through Gurdwara Road. When the procession reaches Range Gounder Street, vehicles from the flyover to this street cannot pass through Sukrawarpet. Instead, they will have to take N.H. Road.Vehicles from Ukkadam to Flower Bazaar and Mettupalayam Road should take the Oppanakara Street, Variety Hall Road, flyover, Brooke Bond Road and Chinthamani Junction.
When the procession reaches Sukrawarpet Junction, vehicles from Gandhipark to the flyover will be diverted through D.B. Road. When it reaches Karuppu Gounder Street from Tyagi Kumaran Street and Idayar Street, vehicles cannot use Vysial Street. They should take the Perur Bypass Road, N.H. Road and reach Ukkadam or other areas. When the procession reaches Thadagam Road from Sullivan Street, traffic on Thadagam Road will be diverted through D.B. Road, Tiruvenkataswamy Road and Brooke Bond Road.Of the more than 1,000 idols in the district, 11 were immersed on Sunday. While seven from the suburbs were immersed in a tank at Kuniamuthur, four others were immersed in the Singanallur Tank in the city.To instill confidence among the public that law and order will be maintained and to deter any mischief, police took out a flag march in the towns of Tirupur and Mettupalayam.
