Garments at the Chamber Show presented by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam in Coimbatore on Friday.Dazzling jewellery, gorgeous sarees, trays of savouries – this and much more are spread out neatly at the Chamber Show 2007 for those who are prepared for the weekend spending this festival season.The show, which was inaugurated on Thursday and on till October 14 at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam here, has over 100 stalls. An array of exhibits promises an interesting shopping time for the visitors. Banks, insurance companies, educational institutions, industry associations and hospitals explain the services that they extend. Textile and jewellery shops, handicrafts and furniture outlets have exhibited some of their best products.For those who are looking out for educative books, publications, CDs for children, electrical products, health products or home appliances, the show is not a disappointment.Not to be left out are building materials, accessories, casual wear and decorative pieces. And, it is not just the food court for those who need something for the palate. As we move from one stall to another, many stop for a cup of flavoured tea, a bite of fresh sweets or confectionary at the stalls of these product makers.The feature of the show is that most of these are from manufacturers and traders in Coimbatore.
Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, the event also offers some thought provoking programmes in the evenings (6 p.m. onwards). Lined up for Saturday evening is an exclusive programme for women (Aani Ver) and “Vettriyin Panmugangal” on Sunday. Entry is free and the exhibition is open from 10.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
